Ford Thunderbird was positioned as the upscale model in a new luxury segment, the personal luxury car. The Ford T-Bird as it was called was one of the most popular American cars ever. It was edgy without looking like a racecar and it looked equally appropriate with its driver dressed in formal wear or racing gear.
